Not too old to have fun!

I am going to tell you a little bit about my night at the club with a bunch of drunks. First the bouncers let me and Mariah in way early before the doors opened. Cause I could not stand in those long lines for 2 hours. The Westerner Club employees were extra nice to me and I really appreciated it too. They gave me free lemon water all night and we sat right next to the stage and thankfully close to the bathroom too. I had made a call to the club a week before the concert and got permission from the General Manager to be let in the back door. I was the only one (other than employees) in the bar when Chris and his band was warming up. It was like he was SINGING to ME!!! It didn't take long for the club to fill up with happy country music lovers. This was the first time to actually be in a bar and NOT drinking. I wasn't sure (and neither were my friends) if I was going to have as much fun as everybody else. But I proved them wrong. I was the life of the party. And I fit right in too. You would have never guessed by the way I was walking that I was not drinking!...lol

This is Chris Cagle.

A newly formed friend, Brandy, went up to the stage and got me this picture off her cell phone.
Photobucket
Because I wasn't able to stand the whole time like ALL the other people did, to get closer to Chris or too even see him over everybody. I was given permission from security to stand on the booth seats to see and of course I did some dance moves too....lol Lots of screaming and singing came next. Chris was great!!! I was sad that he didn't sing my favorite song, "My life is a Country song". But he rocked the club for sure!

STAR STRUCK!!!!

This is Brandy. Her husband works for Coors and was filling the coolers and the bar stands all night so we invited her to come sit with us. Such a sweet girl.
Photobucket
This is William and another friend who likes to be called Cluck....lol
Photobucket
William was only 26 but looked like a baby to me. We hit it off from the very start. I think he reminded my of my son. He was very drunk and the more he drank to funnier he was.
Photobucket
My goofy friend Mariah! Who kept me in stitches all night. We had a BLAST!!! ty Mariah for going with me.
Photobucket
Don't Even Ask!

SEE WHAT I MEAN!!!
Photobucket
Now for this handsome guy. He came to our table later in the evening so I am not sure of his name. But I called him "MR. SMELL GOOD"!!! He had on the most YUMMIEST cologne I have ever smelled. I got the name of it and IT WILL be in Clay's supply very soon.
Photobucket
Another young pup that couldn't hang with the big dogs....lol
Photobucket
These are the people who made my night an awesome memory. I was the oldest one and ANY of them could have been my kid. So you can see I can still have fun with the young pups!!!

What A great time that was had by ALL!!!!

Time to PARTY!

Turning 49 has been hard for me to accept. I guess it's because its so close to 50. I have to admit that I don't feel like I am 49, whatever that's supposed to feel like. My health is doing so much better and I am getting around like I haven't done in many years. I took this picture to see if I really look that old.
Photobucket
My day started out very busy and stayed that way til I went to bed at 11:00 pm. I had a list of things I wanted to do and I did them. Clay surprised me by taking the day off from work. Which was extra special. I didn't have to get Kayla up and ready for school, so I was able to lay in bed a few minutes longer. We checked Kayla out of school so she could have lunch with us. I was feeling bad that she was going to miss out on all my celebration. We had movie plans and a late dinner scheduled all without including her. So we needed to have a few minutes to spend with her too. We went to Subway to eat lunch. I was shocked to realize the point value of a sub was so much. Oh well live and learn. I had a wheat bread turkey breast/ham and white cheese with no dressings and only lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers and mustard. It was very yummy.
Next we were headed to the movies to see "It's Complicated" starring Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin. It was very funny and I really enjoyed it. We met the Jackman's there and they were a blast to be with.
The highlight of the day was dinner at Applebees with the Jackman's and the Hansens. The Cannon's were going to go but had the cancel at the last minute. That made me sad but I understand. Maybe another time. My meal at dinner was very healthy and low in points. Had a dinner salad with no dressing. And grilled shrimp and steamed broccolli. They brought me some whole strawberries for dessert.
After I got home I rode my exercise bike and headed to bed.

The love of my life

This wild and crazy man is Ken Jackman! We share the same birthday just not the same year. Having him spend my special day with me was incredible. He always makes me laugh and he has a smile that you can't help but love. Again thank you Ken.

The gangs all here!

Some of my birthday cards.

Not quite sure if Clay realized the work he was to invest in the gift he gave me. This is a full motion flat screen TV wall mount. It's for the TV we got for Christmas, that's in our bedroom. Now he has to wire the electric and cable up to the spot where the TV is going to be. Plus I want my room painted and the VERY heavy bedroom furniture moved. All this before he can mount the TV. So I wonder how long it will remain in the box....lol

My beautiful new jewelery that my friend April gave me. We went shopping the Saturday before and she helped me pick out my new birthday outfit and then she made me these to wear with it. They were a PERFECT match and I love them. Thank you April. (Her kids made me cards and playdough flowers and balloons, way cute)

As you can see I had a great birthday. I tried to count all my facebook birthday wishes but lost count at 57. (That's just crazy!) Thanks to all my friends and family who remembered me on my Birthday. You are amazing!

Music to my ears!

While I was out shopping for new clothes, Clay was home installing
a stereo in my front room closet.

I asked him if he would put the stereo in the closet and hang my Bose speakers above the closet doors. His response was "And where am I going to get the electricity from inside the closet?" I said "I trust you will find a solution and I don't want to see any wires on the wall either." He rolled his eyes and quickly changed the subject. That was weeks ago. So we I got home and saw this, I was so happy.

He was able to get the electric supply from the garage (which is on the other side of the closet) and he installed the outlet on the wall inside the closet. He ran the wires from behind the front room wall and put wall hangers on the back of the speakers. The speaker wires are no where to be seen, which is what I wanted. He is so talented and I love him so much.

Photobucket
You can see one of the speaker wires from inside the closet
when the closet door is open.
But that's not a problem cause the doors will be shut!
Photobucket
See how nice the speakers look and you can't even see the stereo.
Photobucket
I love my front room. I can sit in front of the fireplace and listen to my music now.

Our night with a Utah Jazz player

Mikayla has been playing basketball for the Junior Jazz team for 2 years now. Every year they have a Jazz Player Appearance Night. This year Paul Millsap came to play with the kids and answers a few of their questions.

It was a very cold and snowy night but we went as a family to the Energy Solution Center. We took the Trax there to avoid the traffic and parking issues. Because we got there so early we were one of the first to go into the building after they opened the doors. The stairs were not going to keep me from allowing Kayla the opportunity of the first row at the bottom by the court.
So I went down a BIG flight of stairs and there is where we sat. Kayla was so proud of her seats and just seeing her smile made the work of doing the stairs all worth it.

WARNING!!!!! These pictures were taken by Clay's cell phone so the quality is not the best but at least you can see her excitement.

See how close we were to Paul and the co host?

These were our seats 1st row....

At the end of the night they picked Kayla to ask Paul a question. She asked him "How old were you when you knew you wanted to be a Pro basketball player?" His answers was when he was a Senior in High School.

This video was when Kayla was picked to go out and run a re-lay race against the other team on the other half of the court. Kayla's team even won too. She was nervous being out there with ALL these strangers watching her but as you will see she did great.

The kids were asked to pick a side of the court to stand on. One was for "He is going to make it" and the other was "I think he will miss it". The kids were not told where he would have to throw it from. Previously he had missed the half court shots. This is Paul making this very EASY shot. lol

It was a great night to spend with the family and it was even neat to see a REAL live Jazz player up close and personal! Thank you Junior Jazz.

My Baby is growing up!

It makes me sad to know my last little girl is getting to be a young lady. Seeing her wearing teen age clothes, lip gloss and heels is too big of a shock. She is getting ready in these pictures to attend a school field trip. She loves her hair to be straighten, jewelery and putting on smelly perfume. My oldest daughter, who is almost 30 now, never enjoyed these things. So it is nice to see Kayla looking like a young lady. I just don't know if I am ready for her to grow up so fast.

I feel sorry for the boys, who will be interested in her when she gets to dating age. I think her dad is going to have a hard time watching his little baby girl grow up to be a teenager. (the whole boyfriend thing) The time is approaching WAY too fast for us... We love you Kayla!

It's all about BRANDON!!!!!

My son turns 24 of January 18th. He lives in a group home in another city here in Utah. It is about 45 miles or so from my home. Being that the 18th was on a week day we decided to have his celebration the weekend before. So Saturday we started the morning out by attending Mikayla's basketball game. After we got home we received a call from his older brother, Jeremy, who is doing time in the local Department of Corrections. Brandon doesn't get to speak with him very often so this was a special gift for him. I noticed that Brandon needed some new tennis shoes so we went to the Shoe Carnival to check out what they had. The store clerk announced that it was Brandon's birthday and had him spin the big wheel. Whatever it landed on is what his discount would be.

Photobucket
All the shoes were a little overwhelming for him. Trying to make a choice was not easy but I think he did a great job.

He had decided that he would like to go play Laser Tag for his special day. I have watched Clay and Kayla play this before but I had never played. I thought being in a wheel chair would only get in the way of the game. BUT this time I was determined to try it with the family. Nicole got a babysitter and she joined the fun too. Here are some pictures of the game.

I stayed by our base to protect it from the enemy.

Now lets look at our scores. Clay was Batman, Nicole was Rocky, Kayla was
Flash, I was Auquaman, and Brandon was Maximus. Kayla KICKED butt but hey I wasn't in last place...Hurray for me! It was a total blast and a major work out for me.
Photobucket
Everyone had a fun and then we went to play some arcade games to relax from all the excitement. It's all about the tickets for the kids....
Photobucket
She made out like a bandit!
Photobucket
Clay even got into to the game...lol

Nicole and Clay gave Brandon their tickets so he was able to get a few things at the gift counter.
From there we met Nicole and her family at Red Robin to chow down on some yummy food.

And of course Kayla had baby Kolten...

He says he doesn't like them to sing or make a big deal of his birthday, but I think he really does...Look at his smile!

His birthday cake. He thought it was too rich so Kayla and Clay had most of it.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRANDON!!!!
